The past few months have caused me to realize that there are people in this world who do things taht have the singular purpose of hurting other people. These are the people who wait for you to make one mistake, then rub it in your face for the rest of your life. They are the people who have so little sense of decency and humanity that any 'joke' is a good one--regardless of the consequences. In fact, these are those people who have no idea what consequences are or that these consequences may one day trickle down to them. They are those who may give a starving man a crust of bread, but not before dangling it just out of reach for an hour--then congratulating themselves on their humanity and kindness.
I've as yet been lucky enough not to realize how it feels to really hate someone. People have fucked me over before, and done things unmentionable, but I've always managed to avoid hating them.
Maybe I've changed. Maybe it's not been good, as everyone keeps claiming. But it's happen[ed,ing] and I'm glad for it.
I'm not a child any more. I haven't been for a long time. I'm sorry if there are people to whom this is such a forgein concept that they no longer can accept me as a friend. To those people, good luck and goodbye. It's been fun.
To everyone else, step up and be a man. You have a friend who's doing something stupid? Then tell her or him. You have a friend who is self destructive? Tell her or him. Don't worry that they won't still be your friend--if they were *ever* your friend, then when they are fucking up is when they need your honesty the most. Don't be vauge. Be spesific. Be serious. Be consistant. Be a real friend.
Otherwise, you're nothing but a typical LJ yes-man, and if that's the kind of people that your friend needs to surround herself or himself with, then as much as you may like them, they do not deserve you.
And, before I go and get my nails done, let me say this: This was your last victory and you no longer have the power to win.
